Description
Chicago Debates Summer Institute is a two-week-long immersive speech and debate camp that allows students to build key leadership, argumentation, public speaking, and critical thinking skills. New this year, we will be offering two formats: Policy and Public Forum debate.
CDSI will run from Monday, July 17, 2023 to Friday, July 28, 2023 | Location: Marie Sklodowska Curie Metropolitan High School
How long does the speech and debate camp run each day?
Camp runs Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are provided.
How do I know if I qualify as a Title 1 student?
Regardless of what CPS school you or your student attends, any household meeting the following United States Department of Agriculture income guidelines would qualify. Title 1 registrants must verify their status with Chicago Debates staff. Failure to do so will result in being charged the full CPS Student price.
To register as a Title 1 student and be considered for a debate camp scholarship, you must submit our external form. <--- Please use this link to register your child if they qualify as a Title 1 student and would like to receive a scholarship to attend CDSI. The CDSI scholarship is a first come, first served opportunity. Families who fail to apply on time will be required to pay the full CPS student camp fee. A member of our staff will review your application and follow-up on your application status.
